£6,509 Boost to Eye Appeal

Thanks to a £6,509 Donation from NFU Mutual's Northallerton Branch

We are thrilled to have been given a huge boost to our Eye Appeal recently from Insurance Firm, NFU Mutual’s Northallerton branch.

NFU Mutual Agent, Michael Hilyer got in touch to tell us he wished to donate from the company’s Agency Giving Fund a wonderful £6,509 to our charity.

We caught up with Michael for a photo and a chat where he told us that he likes to be able to give back to a local community or cause, and in recent years has tried to help local charities who were impacted during the covid pandemic.

After chatting with Michael and further explaining to him just what it will mean for residents of Hambleton & Richmondshire to be able to have their eye conditions treated closer to home Michael was even more certain he’d made the right choice. He told us;

"When choosing where the funds should go I like to have a look around and see who’s doing what in the area, and when I saw that Friends of the Friarage were running an Eye Appeal it was an obvious choice and I’m pleased to be able to help, it will be a great addition to the Friarage."

Like many residents of the area, Michael has a fondness for the Friarage, after being treated there once or twice over the years but most notably because his twin sons were born there too! 

We’d like to thank Michael again for choosing our Eye Appeal this year and for taking us even closer to our £200k target - we are currently just sitting shy of £50,000!
