Thirsk & Northallerton Lions donation boosts Eye Appeal!
We were thrilled when Thirsk & Northallerton Lions recently got in touch to say they would like to support our Eye Appeal with a very generous donation of £1,000! They joined us at the Friarage yesterday to present us with the amount. Lions Club President, David Wells explained why they had chosen to donate to our appeal,
"Since 1925, Lions Clubs International has been a leader in serving and advocating for the blind and visuallt impaired. Therefore when Thirsk and Northallerton Lions Club heard about the Friends' Eye Appeal we were keen to support this local initiative. What we have donated has all been raised locally from our market stalls and Santa sleigh, so it is good to see it going back into the community."
