Local Business Supports the Friarage
SONNY PLAYFORTH HAIRDRESSING SAYS THANK YOU TO HOSPITAL STAFF
While Sonny Playforth's Hairdressing Salon on Northallerton High Street has been closed during the lockdown his wife, Laura, and his mother in law, Sue, have been busy making the most of the time by sewing masks. These masks though have a double benefit. Sonny is giving all proceeds from the mask sales directly to the Friends of the Friarage to say thank you to the wonderful Friarage Hospital staff for all that they have done and continue to do during the pandemic.
Sonny's customers will be able to make a donation for these masks in the salon to keep themselves and other safe, catch up with long awaited trims and styling and support the staff at the Friarage Hospital all at the same time.
Friends of the Friarage Chairman, Donna Jermyn, stated, "It is fantastic that local businesses are gradually coming back to life. I am delighted that Sonny Playforth has chosen to support Friends of the Friarage by selling homemade masks to his customers. These face coverings not only help to reduce the risk of transmission of coronavirus but the funds raised will go towards supporting local NHS staff and volunteers who, throughout this crisis, have demonstrated their outstanding dedication and commitment."
Lyn Proud, Trustee at Friends of the Friarage and a customer, added, "I have been associated with SPH since it first opened in Northallerton. Sonny has always been a great supporter of local charities and we are delighted and extremely grateful that he has chosen to raise funds to benefit the staff at the Friarage Hospital."
